A 1910 (?) black ebonized grand piano by Steinway and Sons. no 146722. However later information advises caution concerning the date of this ‘Old Style 85 note Model O’ Piano. It is most likely to be early 1880s with serial 43722. It has a modernised case with cabinet alterations and later legs, lyre and music stand, various tech features on the piano point to construction no later than 1885 in Hamburg.

More Information

Musically it is in general good condition, albeit needing a tune and with occasional notes requiring individual attention mechnically. It has been long-serving in the school chapel and as a result has scuffs and marks on the body. The stool has two minor rips. Attached are two pictures of the piano interior. By and large the instrument plays well and has an impressive sonorous sound.

It is approximately 4 feet wide, 3 feet high and 6 feet long.
