Mary Ann Knight (1776-1851), Portrait miniature of Lady Catherine Sarah Boileau nee Elliot, watercolour on ivory, paper label within the case ‘painted by M.A.Knight April 1821’, 12.4x9.1cm, rectangular in a red leather case, scratches to surface, case damaged, purchased Sworders 10th March 2015. (Notes: Sir John Peter Boileau, 1st Baronet FRS, DL, JP (2 September 1794 – 9 March 1869)[1] was a British baronet and archaeologist.
In 1825, he married Catherine Sarah, the third daughter of Gilbert Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 1st Earl of Minto.[8] They had four sons and five daughters.[8] His wife died in 1862 and Boileau survived her until 1869. He died at Torquay and was buried in the family's vault in Ketteringham.[4])
