More Information
Blue Rain (151) was built for Marinda Cundy to compete in the 1965 Cowes Torquay power boat race (Aluminium - Classic Offshore Powerboat Club - COPC).
The all aluminium welded hull, a first of its kind, was bought from its Hayling Island designer by Richard Thomas and modelled for personal use. A second aluminium skin below the water line was fitted and a new transom to accommodate a Volvo Penta 5.7 litre V8 duo prop, the work undertaken at Tough's Boat yard in Teddington by Gary Lineker's step father, Peter Morris.
The refit included larger stainless steel fuel tanks, new tinted windscreen, marine ply decking and all boat fittings. The International paint system has been used on the hull, anti-fouling not applied in anticipation of a launch.
The cabin includes 2 berths, heads, storage space and a forward freshwater storage tank under the anchor chain locker.
Hull length is approx. 8 metres. The boat is sold with an SBS unused trailer R4/2600 EL with rollers on the rear swing beam.
The boat suffered from poor winterising so needs attention, but this presents a great renovation project.
